So you want to look at our web site? Well, so would we. (Sigh)
We could tell you that everything you could ever want in an on-line bookstore is right around the next mouse-click-corner.
We could even tell you that you’ll love everything you’ll see.
But we’re not going to.
It wouldn’t be true.

By now you’ve probably guessed that we’re (still) way behind where we wanted to be on this e-commerce thing. Good guess. But we don’t want you to go away completely disappointed. While you’re waiting for us to upload our extensive inventory of luscious books, email us for a beginning catalog.

We carry science fiction, fantasy, mystery, general fiction and lots more.
We have a huge selection of signed first editions and even signed paperbacks in all these areas.
And we specialize in Colorado, New Mexico and Wyoming authors, including the inimitable Connie Willis.

We are thrilled to announce the impending birth of a new book store,
Broadway Book Mall,
200 S. Broadway, Denver, CO, 80209
southeast corner of Broadway and Cedar, just across from a post office,
just 3-1/2 blocks south of the Denver Book Mall location.
And get this:  We have better parking available – a small free lot in back, 1-hour meters in front,
2-hour meters and 2-hour free spots on Cedar.

One of the reasons we selected this location is that we will be two doors from Fahrenheit Books once again.  We are long-time friends, and we think we’ll bring business to each other.  Also, we’ll have room to continue our book signings, which is our long-standing commitment to local authors.  We’ll also still be easily able to host Colorado Homegrown Tales readings.  As for continuing to host Random Acts of Theatre, we’ll have to see, but we haven’t given up on that entirely.

We take possession of the property July 1 and will immediately begin moving in back-up stock, building bookcases, adding lighting, and cleaning the carpet.  Helping us move will be several of the good friends we’ve made at MileHiCon and the Denver Area Science Fiction Association, plus an assortment of other suckers, er…friends.  We could still use people with good knees to carry boxes!

Don’t know when we’ll be open for business, but I’m aiming for at least a “soft” opening in early to mid-August and a big Grand Opening Weekend maybe Labor Day weekend.  Ron is less sure, but we have to be out by August 31 anyway as the old book mall is totally closing down then.  We’ve been here almost 11 years, and it’s a crying shame to see it close.  HOWEVER:

Joining us will be some of your favorites from the old Denver Book Mall:

v  Laura Givens, local artist extraordinaire, who carries her own art, SF and fantasy, graphic novels and comics, movies, metaphysical, classics.
v  Marian, Large Print Books in many genres and topics and also a mail-order catalog.
v  Dean, who has mystery, science fiction, western fiction, general fiction, cookbooks, and always some surprising items of pure uniqueness.
v  Steve, Sports Books, who carries general fiction, theatre, westerns, miscellaneous
….and not many sports books at this time
v  Mary, Books West and East, who offers a wide array of books about China, Japan and all of Asia; African-American, armchair travel and adventure; plus some nice older children’s books.
v  Tom, who has an extensive collection of sheet music and some books about music and musicians.
v  JoAnn, Anna’s Gate, who specializes in Jungian and other psychology, U.S. and world history, fiction, biographies, religion, philosophy, Eastern spirituality.
v  Joe, I-70 Books, our king of non-fiction, who covers Colorado/Western/Indian history, mountaineering, sports, paranormal, religion, mythology, philosophy, classics, science, mythology, medicine/healing, military, classical history, hunting and fishing, and so much more.

And, of course, we plan to have room for our own (Who Else! Books) extensive selection.  Most of our books are gently used, but we have a wide array of new books as well.  Our emphasis is on mystery, horror, science fiction, fantasy and general fiction, many autographed.  But we also have a good selection of cookbooks, politics, women’s issues, Hispanic literature, African-American literature, gay and lesbian issues and literature, humor, childrens and young adult, gardening, books on books and on writing, audiobooks, general non-fiction, plus Ron’s famously named shelf of “Tall Books of a Miscellaneous Nature.”

We look forward to continuing serving Colorado's booklovers in our new home.

Nina and Ron
