CONGRATULATIONS TO CONNIE WILLIS
for winning the Nebula Award, AND the Hugo Award,
AND the Locus Award for Best Novel,
Blackout/All Clear (yes, 1 great novel in 2 volumes).
This makes 7 Nebulas and 11 Hugos, plus numerous other
science fiction writing awards for Connie.

Carrie Vaughn.  We just obtained some copies of the special book published for Carrie as guest of honor at CapClave in Maryland this year (last year’s special guest was Connie Willis and we still have copies of the special edition of Fire Watch that they did for her).  The book is a small hardcover (196 pages) called Straying from the Path, limited to 500 copies and selling for $25.  We are selling it for $22.  It contains some of Carrie’s uncollected stories from Realms of Fantasy, Talebones and even more obscure sources, including some on-line stories.  A very special treat for Carrie fans and a great book to explore Carrie’s short story strengths.

From MileHiCon we have signed copies of books by Verner Vinge & Glen Cook, including Mr. Vinge’s latest, The Children of the Sky, sequel to A Fire Upon the Deep.  From Bubonicon we still have signed 1st of George Martin’s 5th Song of Fire & Ice, A Dance With Dragons.  We also have various signed stock from Ben Bova & Diana Gabaldon, who also attended.  Ask us about titles.  We also still have a couple of signed copies of Neal Stephenson’s new book “Reamde” still at cover price.

And we still have signed copies of Steampunk Queen Cheri Priest’s 3 steampunk  books (Boneshaker, Dreadnaught & Ganymede) in case you missed her signing at our bookstore.  Finally, we have signed copies of nearly all of Connie Willis’ books, including the Hugo/Nebula/Locus winner Blackout/All Clear.  We have these in Trade Paper, Hardcover 1st edition & the now super rare Subterranean editions.  If you mention this e-mail, we will still sell the latter to you at the $75 (each) cover price through the end of the year (on-line they are in the hundreds if you can find them).  Limit 1 each.

We also attended a very funny Gregory Maguire booksigning for his 3rd book in the Wicked trilogy, Out of Oz and have a few signed copies available.

We would be negligent not to mention that this Christmas there is a NEW Dr. Seuss The Bippolo Seed and Other Lost Stories (unpublished stories from Redbook magazine in the 1950’s) and a NEW Shel Silverstein, Everything On It.

Mountain Brew, by Ed Sealover, is a Colorado-wide exploration of craft breweries which would make a wonderful gift for yourself or a beef-lover in your life.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

We have several books signed for us at Mile Hi Con by guests Glen Cook, Gardner Dozois and Vernor Vinge, as well as books by celebrated Denver and Regional authors. We also still have signed copies of The Gathering Storm, by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson, all of Connie Willis' titles, as well as books signed by local writers such as Mario Acevedo, Carrie Vaughn, Carol Berg, Robin Owens, David Boop, Julie Anne Peters, John Dunning, Laura Reeve and too many more to name right now. To ask about a specific author or title or to order, call 303-744-BOOK (2665) or email us at info AT BroadwayBookMall.com. We can take cash, checks, most credit cards, and PayPal.

We are thrilled to announce that our new book store, Broadway Book Mall, 200 S. Broadway, Denver, CO, 80209, is open for business in a comfortable storefront on the southeast corner of Broadway and Cedar, just across from a post office,
just 3-1/2 blocks south of the Denver Book Mall location.
And get this:  We have better parking available, including a small free lot in back.

OPEN Tuesday-Saturday 10-6, Sunday 11-5
also open Mondays 2-6

One of the reasons we selected this location is that we are two doors from Fahrenheit Books once again.  We have room to continue our book signings, which is our long-standing commitment to local authors.  We’ll also still be easily able to host Colorado Homegrown Tales readings.

Joining us are some of your favorites from the old Denver Book Mall:

v  Laura Givens, local artist extraordinaire, who carries her own art, SF and fantasy, graphic novels and comics, movies, metaphysical, classics.
v  Marian, Large Print Books in many genres and topics and also a mail-order catalog.
v  Dean, who has mystery, science fiction, western fiction, general fiction, cookbooks, and always some surprising items of pure uniqueness.
v  Steve, Sports Books, who carries general fiction, theatre, westerns, miscellaneous
….and not many sports books at this time
v  Mary, Books West and East, who offers a wide array of books about China, Japan and all of Asia; African-American, armchair travel and adventure; plus some nice older children’s books.
v  Tom, who has an extensive collection of sheet music and some books about music and musicians.
v  JoAnn, Anna’s Gate, who specializes in Jungian and other psychology, U.S. and world history, fiction, biographies, religion, philosophy, Eastern spirituality.
v  Joe, I-70 Books, our king of non-fiction, who covers Colorado/Western/Indian history, mountaineering, sports, paranormal, religion, mythology, philosophy, classics, science, mythology, medicine/healing, military, classical history, hunting and fishing, and so much more.

And, of course, we plan to have room for our own (Who Else! Books) extensive selection.  Most of our books are gently used, but we have a wide array of new books as well.  Our emphasis is on mystery, horror, science fiction, fantasy and general fiction, many autographed.  But we also have a good selection of cookbooks, politics, women’s issues, Hispanic literature, African-American literature, gay and lesbian issues and literature, humor, childrens and young adult, gardening, books on books and on writing, audiobooks, general non-fiction, plus Ron’s famously named shelf of “Tall Books of a Miscellaneous Nature.”

We are committed to continue serving Colorado's booklovers in our new home.

Nina and Ron
